DuPage River

Pencil, color pencil and watercolor on Stillman&Birn Alpha Series Sketcbook 8" x 10"
The level of water in Dupage River was higher than normal, it's been raining moderately but even so, it makes a difference. On a defiance to the stay at home orders, sick of been at home, we dared to go to the river here in Shorewood.  There are a couple of picnic benches where we had a sandwich for supper on a break from the rain. It was sunny, finally. For some minutes we were alone, then some kids on bicycles arrived to the other table far from us, played briefly barefoot in the overflowed grass and left soon. A kayaker passed by, she wasn't afraid of the strong current, she looked quite comfortable. I also found a chick on the grass which I mistakenly thought at first it was a mushroom.  It was bleeding from the head, I could not possible help the poor thing. This was the busiest day we have ever had in 60 days in lockdown. I least everything is pleasantly green and the temperature has been better.
I did the work line on location and the rest at home, I chose to color pencil which takes me more time, but after all, time is what I have.
